Oremus Aszú 3 Puttonyos 2022 stands as one of the most compelling expressions of Tokaj's storied winemaking tradition, produced by Bodega Oremus — the Hungarian estate overseen by the legendary Vega Sicilia group. If you're looking to buy a premium Tokaj sweet wine online with European delivery, this is a benchmark bottle that demands attention.

Crafted from Furmint, Zéta and Sárgamuskotály grapes harvested at peak botrytisation, this 3-puttonyos Aszú strikes the classic balance between luscious sweetness and the electric acidity that defines great Tokaj. The must is carefully fermented and then aged in 220- and 350-litre barrels for two full years before resting a further twelve months in bottle — a slow, patient process that rewards those who appreciate age-worthy, terroir-driven sweet wines. Residual sugar sits at 130 g/l, yet the wine never feels heavy thanks to the Furmint grape's naturally piercing acidity.

The bouquet is immediately captivating: acacia honey, ripe apricot, fresh lime zest and quince jelly weave together with delicate floral notes. On the palate, the mouthfeel is silky and generous, with citrus-driven mid-palate tension that keeps the sweetness lively and focused. The finish is long and velvety, leaving a lingering impression of candied stone fruit and subtle spice.

This is a food-friendly sweet wine that shines alongside foie gras, Roquefort and aged blue cheeses, fruit-based desserts, or simply as a contemplative pour to close a memorable meal. Available in an elegant 50cl bottle — the ideal format for a shared indulgence. Buy Oremus Aszú 3 Puttonyos online and experience one of Central Europe's most iconic sweet wine traditions delivered to your door.

The Winery

Founded in 1993

Oremus Tokaji is one of the most iconic wineries in the Tokaj region of northeastern Hungary, nestled amid the Zemplén Mountains near the Ukrainian border. While wine production at the Oremus vineyard dates back to 1620, and a medieval document from June 16, 1462 constitutes the earliest written reference to its vineyards, the winery in its current form was established in 1993 when the Álvarez family — owners of the legendary Vega Sicilia estate in Spain — acquired these lands and embarked on an ambitious project of restoration and modernization. The name «Oremus» derives from Latin, meaning «let us pray», reflecting the spiritual reverence that has historically surrounded these extraordinary wines. The Álvarez family has masterfully balanced the centuries-old tradition of one of the world's most revered wines with technological advancement. Their thorough study of local production methods and deep respect for tradition are evident in the construction of the new winery and in every stage of the winemaking process. The stated goal at Oremus is to produce Tokaji wines of elegance and balance, always seeking a perfect harmony between sweet fruit and the natural acidity that defines this appellation. The estate encompasses 33 hectares of vineyard planted predominantly with Furmint, the flagship variety of Tokaj, alongside Hárslevelü, Sárga Muskotály, Zéta, Kövérszolo, and Gohér. The winemaking process follows the traditional formula of the region: the botrytised Aszú and Eszencia wines undergo slow fermentation and years of ageing in small barrels within the ancient underground cellars of the estate. The range includes Aszú wines from three to six puttonyos, Eszencia, Late Harvest, and single-vineyard dry whites such as Mandolás and Petrács. The Tokaj Hegyalja region was designated a UNESCO World Heritage Site in 2002, and as early as 1772, in the world's first vineyard classification, Oremus was ranked PRIMAE CLASSIS. Its wines enjoy broad international critical acclaim and consistently high scores in specialist publications.
