Real Imperial Kosher is a certified kosher Cava from Covides, one of Catalonia's most respected wine cooperatives, crafted from the classic trio of Penedès white grapes: Xarel·lo, Macabeo and Parellada. Produced using the traditional method, this sparkling wine combines the cooperative's decades of expertise — drawing on over 700 grape-growing families farming nearly 2,000 hectares — with an unwavering commitment to quality through the exclusive use of free-run juice, the purest fraction of the press.
The kosher certification makes Real Imperial a distinctive and increasingly sought-after choice in premium sparkling wine circles, opening doors to celebrations and occasions where certified wines are required without sacrificing a single note of elegance or complexity. For those looking to buy kosher Spanish sparkling wine online, this bottle stands as a compelling option with serious winemaking credentials behind it.
On the nose, expect a fresh and inviting bouquet of ripe apple, white peach and delicate floral notes — the hallmark of well-grown Macabeo and Parellada — with subtle structure provided by the Xarel·lo. The palate is rounded and lively, with a creamy mouthfeel from the fine, persistent perlage and a crisp, refreshing acidity that keeps each sip energetic and clean. The finish is pleasingly long, fruity and bright.
This terroir-driven cava from the Penedès is a natural match for fresh seafood, light starters, mild cheeses, and aperitif-style occasions. Whether paired with oysters, prawn cocktail or a selection of canapés, it brings celebratory sparkle to the table.
Best served well-chilled at 6–8°C, Real Imperial Kosher Cava is available to buy online at Mercado 46 with European delivery. A premium Spanish sparkling wine that honours both tradition and inclusivity.

The Winery
Founded in 1963
Covides Viñedos y Bodegas was founded in 1963 through the collective vision of more than 600 winegrowers in the Penedès region, who joined forces to produce quality wines cooperatively, leaving behind domestic winemaking and animal traction in favour of mechanisation and modern techniques. Today, with around 650 active members cultivating approximately 1,900 hectares spread across more than 50 municipalities in Alt and Baix Penedès and Garraf, Covides has established itself as the leading first-degree wine cooperative in Catalonia by volume, with an annual harvest of around 24 million kilograms of grapes. The winery operates two main facilities —in Sant Cugat Sesgarrigues and Sant Sadurní d'Anoia— and a state-of-the-art cellar expanded in 2005 with a capacity of 7.5 million bottles. The winemaking philosophy centres on sustainability, respect for the vineyard and a passion for excellence: only free-run juice from the first pressing fraction —known as «mosto flor»— is used, alongside pneumatic presses, stainless steel tanks, temperature-controlled fermentation, skin maceration and continuous cold stabilisation. The key varieties are the native Catalan grapes Macabeo, Xarel·lo and Parellada, complemented by Chardonnay for whites and cavas, and Tempranillo, Merlot and Cabernet Sauvignon for reds. The rosé cava is crafted exclusively from Trepat, a grape variety indigenous to Catalonia. All wines and cavas fall under the Penedès and Cava Denominations of Origin. Among its most notable ranges is Duc de Foix, a premium line with an elegant, timeless Mediterranean design, alongside a collection inspired by the Castellers —the human towers of Catalan tradition— symbolising teamwork as the cornerstone of great wine. Some 25% of total production is bottled, 65% of which is exported to around 30 countries. Covides wines and cavas have earned recognition at prestigious international competitions including the International Wine Challenge, the Decanter World Wine Awards and the China Wine and Spirits Awards.
