Nose
Fragrant bouquet of white flowers, honeysuckle and ripe white peach, with apricot and citrus notes of lime zest and lemon rind. A delicate mineral undercurrent and a hint of Provençal herbs lift the aromatics.
Palate
Generous yet precise on the palate, with a creamy mouthfeel and flavours of stone fruit, white flowers and fresh citrus. Crisp, well-integrated acidity and a chalky mineral backbone provide structure and freshness. Subtle white pepper adds complexity.
Finish
Long, mineral-edged finish with lingering white peach and lime. Clean, refreshing and beautifully balanced — a wine that leaves you wanting another sip.
Ferraton Samorëns Blanc 2024 is a white wine from the Côtes du Rhône appellation, crafted by Ferraton Père & Fils — a cornerstone estate of the Rhône Valley with roots stretching back to 1946. Under the stewardship of the Chapoutier group since 2006, the domaine has embraced biodynamic viticulture, farming in harmony with natural cycles to coax the most authentic expression from each parcel.
The Samorëns Blanc draws on the full palette of classic Rhône white varieties — Clairette, Grenache Blanc, Marsanne, Roussanne, Vermentino, and Viognier — grown in a predominantly Mediterranean climate shaped by limestone soils and the cleansing influence of the Mistral wind. This singular terroir, combined with low yields and careful, minimal-intervention winemaking, produces a white of notable character and freshness.
On the nose, the wine opens with inviting aromas of white peach, apricot, and honeysuckle, layered over bright citrus notes of lime zest and lemon rind. The mouthfeel is generous yet precise — a creamy mid-palate gives way to a clean, mineral backbone with a whisper of white pepper that adds complexity and lift. The finish is long and mineral-edged, with lingering stone fruit and a refreshing acidity that keeps it food-friendly and age-worthy in the near term.
For those looking to buy Ferraton Samorëns Blanc online or explore premium Côtes du Rhône white wines from a world-class address, this is a compelling choice. It pairs beautifully with roasted fish, shellfish, fresh and soft-rind cheeses, rice-based dishes, and light Mediterranean aperitifs.
With over 100 wines rated above 90 points by Robert Parker and a philosophy rooted in ecological integrity, Ferraton Père & Fils consistently delivers wines that speak honestly of their origins. The Samorëns Blanc 2024 is available now at Mercado 46, with European delivery, offering a genuine taste of the southern Rhône at its most expressive.

The Winery
Founded in 1946
Ferraton Père & Fils is a historic wine estate founded in 1946 by Jean Örens Ferraton in the heart of Tain l'Hermitage, in the Northern Rhône Valley. Its humble origins began with a plot of just 0.3 hectares in Hermitage, from which the family patiently built a project of great prestige. In the late 1960s, Michel Ferraton expanded the domaine's vineyards within the Hermitage appellation, consolidating the estate's reputation. In the 1990s, the family partnership was formalised under the name Ferraton Père & Fils, and in 1998 a decisive milestone occurred: an alliance with Michel Chapoutier, who provided technical expertise and financial support to undertake the transition to organic and, subsequently, biodynamic viticulture. In 2004, Chapoutier acquired the company in full, though the estate continues to operate independently under the direction of Samuel Ferraton, preserving its own identity and philosophy. Biodynamics is the soul of Ferraton Père & Fils. All the domaine's vineyards are managed in harmony with lunar rhythms and natural cycles, without synthetic chemicals, with the aim of preserving soil vitality and faithfully expressing the terroir of each individual parcel. Syrah is the signature variety of their reds, offering aromas of dark fruit, violet, spices and leather, with elegant tannins and an extraordinary ageing potential. Their whites, crafted from Marsanne and Roussanne, combine floral notes, minerality and richness. Among their most acclaimed cuvées are the Hermitage "Le Méal", produced from old-vine Syrah on steep granitic hillside soils, the Crozes-Hermitage "La Matinière" and the Saint-Joseph Blanc "La Source". The estate produces wines across prestigious appellations including Hermitage, Côte-Rôtie, Condrieu, Cornas, Saint-Joseph, Crozes-Hermitage, Châteauneuf-du-Pape and Côtes du Rhône. Their wines boast over 100 references awarded more than 90 points by critics such as Parker and Wine Spectator.
